Glenn Ballard earned an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.  He also has masters' degrees in Tax and Finance from Georgia State University, a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Georgia State University, and a bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama.  He is a business owner and the father of four children.

Mr. Ballard founded Lux Debate Club because he's passionate about the need to train young people in logical argumentation and critical thinking skills.  And training students in debate probably is the best way to help them develop these crucial skills.  And with debate, students learn public speaking skills, research skills and teamwork skills to boot!  Currently, in many schools, students are taught what to think, but they are not trained how to think.  Mr. Ballard wants to do his part to help change that trend and restore critical thinking skills in our culture.

Mr. Ballard took an elective philosophy class in college that was an introductory course in logical argumentation. It had a profound impact on him as he quickly noticed the usefulness of training in formal logic, but also noticed that this sort of training is completely missing from most students' education. He became passionate about doing his part to expose as many students as possible to the benefits of training in logic and critical thinking.
